Silk Pillowcases Goes To The Next Level

By Adding Hyaluronic Acid Infused

Micro-Beads Within The Silk Weave

What Does Hyaluronic Acid Do For Me

Hyaluronic Acid is a naturally-occurring molecule is a humectant, a term which notes its ability to retain water—allowing it to become a gel-like substance that protects the joints and provides elasticity to our connective tissues as those found in skin, ligaments, etc.). We are born with high levels of HA, which is partially responsible for the plumping of the skin.

As we age, we lose the ability to retain Hyaluronic Acid due to several factors—both hereditary and environmental. Loss can cause sagging and or wrinkled skin and aches within our joints. Meaning, over time, our natural moisture levels requires some support.

What Hyaluronic Acid Does For Your Skin

Smooth, elastic young skin is loaded with HA—as our bodies produce HA abundantly in our younger years and easily replace the HA that is lost. Hyaluronic Acid provides moisture to the skin by binding up to 1,000 times its weight in water.

Unfortunately, as we age the production of Hyaluronic Acid decreases consequently, the amount of HA in our skin drops significantly, to add to this our body produces less water as we age, over time free radicals, produced mostly through exposure to pollutants and sunlight, destroy the HA in the skin.

Without enough HA in the skin, the skin loses its ability to hold water, leaving a drier, thinner and wrinkled appearance. It’s similar to what happens to drying plums and grapes—as they lose moisture, the skin becomes dried and wrinkled. The skin consists of three main layers: the epidermis, dermis and hypodermis.

Why Is Hyaluronic Acid Vital To Health

Supporting body hydration. The human body is made up of 70% water. Every one of our cells needs water to thrive and function properly. Hyaluronic acid ensures our cells receive the moisture they need—even when environmental factors are the leading cause in maintaining hydration.

Supporting joint health. The human body requires lubrication. It minimizes joint friction, decreases wear on bones and ligaments, and, maintain flexibility. Without correct hydration, joints become stiff and more difficult to move. Dietary supplementation with HA helps ensure that our joints have sufficient lubrication to function at their best!

Supporting eye health. The eye is mainly made up of fluid and is sensitive to dryness. Eyes need hydration to see, to clean themselves, and to reduce strain on the muscles that control eye movement and focus. Hyaluronic Acids plays a significant role to support eye health by maintaining the hydrated environment our eyes need for strain-free performance.

Hyaluronic Acid And Your Hair

Healthy looking hair depends mainly on your scalp being hydrated and nourished hair follicles. The scalp is a very complex system of skin layers that rely on hydration to function.

The dermis is your thickest skin layer and is composed of a lattice of HA-rich collagen and elastin fibres that provide the skin with its elasticity and its resilience. This is also where your hair follicles reside. Here, Hyaluronic acid nourishes and hydrates, as well as supports the deep layers of the scalp.

HA helps your hair:

- Feel supple and smooth

- Retain essential nutrients

- Remain resilient and bounce

- Defy the effects of wind, sun, and environmental damage

What Does Hyaluronic Acid Do For Me?

Hyaluronic Acid is a naturally occurring molecule is a humectant, a term that notes its ability to retain water—allowing it to become a gel-like substance that protects the joints and provides elasticity to our connective tissues as those found in skin, ligaments, etc.). We are born with high levels of HA, which is partially responsible for the plumping of the skin.

The Benefits of Silk for Hair and Skin

It's important to note, however, that pure mulberry silk infused with Hyaluronic Acid pillowcases have wonderful benefits for skin, hair, and health regardless of momme.

Along with being the ultimate in luxury, silk redefines the term "beauty sleep" for hair and skin as well as overall wellness:

Mulberry Silk tames "bed head." If you wake with a head full of tangles, it's likely due to friction from your cotton pillowcase. Silk pillowcases let your hair glide across their surface instead of snagging, no matter how much you toss and turn. You'll get a new morning look: smoother, silkier, and tangle-free. Silk also protects fragile or newly regrown hair from breakage.

Mulberry Silk keeps hair and skin moisturized. Cotton is absorbent and pulls moisture from hair and skin while you sleep. Silk is protein-based and helps hair and skin retain precious moisture.

Mulberry Silk minimizes "sleep wrinkles." Cotton pillowcases tug and pull at delicate facial skin, leaving it creased and wrinkled. Over time, those lines can become permanent. Silk greatly reduces that friction; minimizes the incidence of sleep wrinkles; and slows the damage they cause.

Mulberry Silk helps regulate body temperature. When you sweat, silk wicks away moisture and keeps you cool. In cold weather, silk creates a thin insulated layer that maintains warmth. It's the ideal fabric for year-round comfort.

Mulberry Silk is hypoallergenic and non-irritating. It's gentle on even the most sensitive or acne-prone skin. Silk is also naturally resistant to mold, dust, and mites.

Mulberry Silk is luxurious. No fabric on earth can compare to the look, comfort, and indulgent feel of silk. Sleeping on silk is a luxury like no other.
With that said, higher momme sheets are more densely woven, which means a greater concentration of silk thread; a richer luster; and an overall softer feel. We believe they are a worthwhile investment in your health, beauty, and sleep!

What does "momme" mean in silk fabric?

Momme [mom-ee] is a Japanese word used as a unit of weight measurement for real silk.

Momme, often abbreviated as mm, is defined as the weight in pounds of a piece of fabric sized 45 inches x 100 yards. That is an incredibly long piece of fabric -- about the length of a football field! To put it terms closer to the size of sheets: one momme equates to about 4.340 grams per square meter.

Eight momme fabric weighs about 1 ounce per square yard or 35 grams per square meter.

The higher the momme, the heavier and denser the weave will be.

During the process of silk production, the silk factory will adjust the density and yarn count of the silk thread to control the weight -- or momme -- of the fabric.

With 30 momme charmeuse pillowcase, for example, the weft and warp of the silk fibers are woven closer together than they would be for a 19 momme charmeuse pillowcase.

Higher momme silk fabrics are also made with thicker yarn. In this way, momme is similar to thread count, which is commonly used to measure the weave of cotton sheets.
