If you have lost the natural pigmentation and/or definition in your lips, it is possible to add subtle definition to faded lip contours or create fuller lips using a variety of techniques. We can even create the look of fillers without the need for painful injections! Whatever your reason, permanent makeup could be the solution for you.
The lip treatment is a three-part process usually completed within two appointments. The price you are quoted will include all three stages.
THE CONSULTATIONThe first part of the process is consultation. This is normally done as part of your initial treatment but can be done separately if you prefer. I will talk with you in great detail about the look you are trying to achieve and what we might recommend to you. This is very much a two-way conversation. We listen, we respond, we advise. Once we have an idea of the look you are aiming for, we draw the lip contour and colour on with a makeup pencil. This can be drawn on and adjusted 20 times if necessary! We will never begin the tattoo process until you are completely happy with what it is going to look like.
THE TREATMENTUsing a specialist facial tattooing machine, which works at a much lower frequency than a standard tattoo machine, we gently apply pigment to the lips using very fine needles. The sensation is that of an electric toothbrush being held against your skin – you feel the vibrations but you should not feel much discomfort. We will always work with you at this stage, giving you breaks if you need them. The process normally takes about 90 minutes, but it varies from person to person depending on your individual requirements. After a lip treatment, you are likely to be swollen, so we do not advise making any social plans for a few days afterwards.
THE RETOUCHA second appointment is needed 4-12 weeks after your first treatment. This is usually a 30-60 minute appointment to add more pigment to the lips. This is because as the area is healing, some parts may not ‘hold’ as well as others and you may have a few patches that need more colour. This is completely normal and everyone heals differently. Whatever the case, we advise you always come back to the clinic for your retouch.

Cosmetic Tattoo explained?
Also known as Permanent makeup, micro-pigmentation, permanent cosmetics, derma pigmentation. Cosmetic Tattooing is a safe cosmetic application. The high-grade pigment is implanted into the dermal layer of the skin. The reasons why people choose permanent makeup are many. Therefore the popularity in cosmetic tattoo procedure has been increasing for both women and men. The fact is simple: permanent cosmetics is an effective way to enhance your natural look; it is not about changing your look. Cosmetic tattoo saves time and makes your life easier. You are waking up every day with perfect makeup. Cosmetic Tattooing is excellent if you have a sporty lifestyle.
Why would you have Cosmetic Tattooing?
Cosmetic Tattooing is an excellent option for the busy person who has little or no time to apply conventional makeup daily. Imagine waking up every day with a fresh, natural look. Cosmetic Tattooing is an excellent choice for athletes, people that have allergic reactions to over the counter makeup products or even the vision impaired, but mostly for convenience!
How long will my Cosmetic Tattooing last?
Micropigmentation can last years, but not forever. You will become accustomed to your new look, so it's not uncommon to want more definition. Most people tend to freshen up their new make up every couple of years. The stronger the colour, the longer it will stay unchanged in your skin. Natural, delicate colours are often more vulnerable to the effects of sun, swimming and breakdown by the body's natural response.
What is the healing time?
Healing time varies with different people, swelling will be very minimal, and typically there is no bleeding involved with my procedures. I provide each client with an aftercare package and written instructions. The treated area will begin to lighten up within 3-30 days, and it is recommended to have your touch-up appointment any time 6-8 weeks following your original procedure.
How Long Does Each Procedure Take?
The initial procedure will generally take 2 to 2.5 hours. There are records to establish, before and after photographs to take, area mapping, design and colour to discuss, along with explaining the aftercare requirements. Follow up, or colour refresher procedures usually take 1 to 1.5 hours.
Does it hurt?
While everyone differs in their level of pain tolerance, as a general rule NO, we often have clients go to sleep. Some areas of the face are more sensitive than others, so the particular emphasis is put on making the client feel as comfortable as possible throughout the treatment.
Can I have eyebrows and eyeliner and lips all done at the one appointment?
Yes, a full-face procedure will take between 4-6 hours. However, it is not recommended if you have never had a cosmetic treatment in the past. Generally, most clients choose to do the procedures as individual appointments. Some will do eyebrows and eyeliner at the one appointment and return for lips later.
What exactly is eyelash enhancement, and how is it different from a full eyeliner treatment?
For a natural, less dramatic effect than is achieved with the look of a full eyeliner cosmetic tattoo, eyelash enhancement is very popular. The colour is implanted at the base of the lash line. It makes the lash line look fuller and denser. Eyelash enhancement is great for those that don't usually wear eyeliner but want the eyes to stand out more. All eyeliner starts with lash enhancement to colour in the spaces between the eyelashes. The colour is then widened between the lashes until the preferred look is achieved.
I have had laser vision correction or cataract surgery. Is it ok for me to get lash enhancement or eyeliner?
Absolutely, however, you must be three months post-surgery or have a release from your eye surgeon before that.
I am considering having eyelash extensions. What are the rules for combining the two treatments?
You cannot not be wearing any eyelash extensions during your permanent eyeliner procedure. You need to wait until full healing has taken place before having eyelash extensions put on.
Am I choosing the right Cosmetic Tattoo Artist?
Never shop for price in this matter, sadly many do. This is your face, and a low price isn't a bargain if the result is less than satisfactory. Many technicians have had inadequate training who are performing these services. Firstly and most importantly, check the certifications of your Permanent Makeup Artist. Permanent cosmetics is genuinely an art, not just a process. Your goal should be to find a certified permanent makeup artist. Your results will be only as good as the artist you choose. We recommend a soft natural look that enhances your face without being too bold or overdone.
Colour knowledge is a crucial factor in the application of permanent cosmetics.
You want to seek out an artist who understands skin tones and colours that enhances your face. Techniques vary for different results, so make sure you ask if the artist is capable of achieving the look you are wanting. It is also best to ask the artist if they do corrections as that is a critical indicator that they are knowledgeable in all facets of Permanent makeup techniques. It makes a big difference in the experience of who performs the procedure. Ensure you research the artist you are considering for services. It is well worth spending extra time spent to be assured of quality permanent makeup that you can enjoy for years to come.
